As I mentioned in council today, I'd like to have a general idea of what we're doing for study breaks this semester so I can go ahead and reserve spaces for all of them. This is so we'll be able to take better spaces and plan ahead for more creative events. Here are a few I've brought up before: --some kind of olympic event, crab soccer included, for the middle of winter so people remember what it's like to exercise [planned location: Lerner C555] --a joint film-screening sleepover, co-sponsored by the CC Class of '08 (random but explainable) and CUNUFF (the Columbia University National Undergraduate Film Festival) with popcorn and sleeping bags and fun [planned location: Roone? Party Space?] --something bigger but simple with ESC 2011, because they'd like to do a joint shindig [planned location: Lerner Piano Lounge?] We have several months to plan for, so please, please, please post your ideas! I'll bring them up in discussion at one of our next meetings Thanks, Lili

Here are some more ideas:
~I like the idea of a sleepover thingy...Maybe one just for our class though too?
~I know this one is depressing for some, but I'll throw it out there again for the future...Britney Spears Dance Party
~If Britney doesn't get better soon enough, then we can expand it to other pop "sensations".
And...I'll add more ideas when my brain isn't too fried with bio and orgo thoughts.

I really like the movie screening / popcorn (and possible other movie munchy foods). I think it's something different people would want to come out to - it's not just a cookies/ice cream where people can just buy and eat it anywhere (although i like those!).
I think ethnic foods would make a good one. Chinese egg tarts, Indian curry, etc etc mmmm
I think we mentioned potluck today. It could be cool if we allot each council person like $10-15 council money and all go to Westside, scatter, and 15 mins later come back with foods of our choice. It will be random, fun, and a surprise.

Cool! A potluck dinner for the class might be cool; all we would have to set up is tables, tablecloths, decorations....

ethnic foods would work or just like a food category hehe or can do like an iron chef thing...where all the dishes have to contain a specific ingredient, and see how many varieties of dishes people will make? ;D

Update -- so class dinner has sort of become our potluck dinner plan. The two "scavenger hunt" ideas brought up during our meeting seem to be the best for fun and budget, so let's get started on those!
